Morgellons Skin Disease and The Effects On The Skin
Morgellons Skin Disease has been on the rise in the past few years, but there are some patients who have said they have had symptoms for decades. Finally it is started to be taken seriously by the Morgellon Research Foundation as well as Oklahoma State in Tulsa Oklahoma. Dr. Randy Wymore, as Assistant Professor, is taking it upon himself to study the effects on the skin that Morgellons Disease leaves.
Morgellons Skin Disease starts out with lesions and fibers and then morphs into a nerve and psychological disease that can eventually make a person develop mental health issues such as Bipolar Disease.
The lesions can be mild to disfiguring and can show up on any part of the body. They are usually in a bizarre pattern that can from quarter size to the length of your leg. They are scabby and if picked continuously can lead to serious scarring. They are extremely itchy and present most of the problems of Morgellons Skin Disease because this is where it feels like bugs are crawling beneath your skin. The intense itch that patients feel keeps them up all hours of the night and causes other infections if they keep scratching.
Both the lesions and the fibers continue for the life of the person because a cure for Morgellons Skin Disease has yet to be found. Because of the correlation between Morgellons Skin Disease and Lyme Disease the skin effects are controlled by antibiotics used for Lyme Disease. For now this is one of the best solutions out there for people suffering from this excruciating disease. The effects on the skin are agonizing for most people and their hope is that they can learn how to control it soon.
